Who is responsible for the emotions you feel?
Let’s take a moment and deeply explore this question. Are people responsible for what you think and feel about them? As you may know, with responsibility comes power. In your experience, do you believe someone else has the power to MAKE you feel YOUR emotions?
Since they are YOUR emotions, wouldn’t that make YOU responsible for them? If another person can MAKE you feel an emotion, then that person is not only responsible for what you feel but also dictates when, where, and for how long you feel it.
Does something sound off about this to you? Many of us have things backwards by believing that our emotional experience is created from the outside in. However, when you thoroughly examine your direct experience with emotion, you’ll see for yourself whether it’s outside in or inside out.
If your emotional experience happens inside of you, how can someone outside have access? How can they touch you emotionally? I invite you to consider this, your thoughts are responsible for the emotions you feel. Not just any thoughts, specifically the thoughts you believe. Your belief of a thought makes that thought produce a feeling that we call emotion. The power to believe a thought is yours. The majority of our beliefs are programmed in the subconscious mind. Therefore, emotional feelings often arise without us knowing why, they are unconscious reactions. Using emotional reactions as an opportunity to examine your subconscious beliefs rather than blame another could assist with developing a healthier relationship to your emotional experiences. As well as the people that inspire the opportunities for you to examine your programming.

When thoughts are aligned with your true nature, it feels good, when thoughts don’t align with your true nature it doesn’t feel good. It’s as simple as that.
When an emotion feels unpleasant, it’s an indicator that you believe something untrue in relation to the essence of who you are.
If you find yourself challenged by any particular emotion, consider taking 100% responsibility for it and embrace the feeling, because it shows you the quality of a thought you currently believe. Seek to become aware of and understand that programmed thought. Then remember…you are always emotionally untouchable.
